How to migrate DNS server

There are three ways to migrate a DNS server from earlier versions windows server 2000 to new versions of windows 2003 and windows server 2008. Migration of a DNS Server improves the performance, security, and reliability of your DNS infrastructure by giving you access to the advanced features that are available in Windows Server 2008.

The migration of DNS server involves the following:

1. Upgrading to new DNS server on latest windows OS from old DNS servers.
2. Moving zone files from an existing DNS server to new DNS server implementation.
3. migrating zones using master-secondary zone transfer to DNS servers.
