Create BuiltIn Directory Partitions using dnscmd command
The following illustrates adding BuiltIn Dictory Paritions on command line using the command dnscmd.exe.
1. Assume the dns server on which to create builin directory partitions to be created is "dnsserver".
2. To create Directory Partition at domain level, run
dnscmd dnsserver /CreateBuiltDirectoryPartitions /Domain
3. To create Directory Partition for forest, run
dnscmd dnsserver /CreateBuiltDirectoryPartitions /Forest
Note: Here "dnsserver" should be forest dns server.
4. Finally, to add directory partitions to all domains, run
dnscmd dnsserver /CreateBuiltDirectoryPartitions /AllDomains
